i've been thinking a lot about the gap between the world and modern physics theories. so i started a new section of my site... /physics. it has a lot of the physics resources i try to keep up on. check it out, click here. how often do you think about calabi-yau shapes? can we understand where space and time come from, can we show this fundamental idea yields a unique theory with a unique solution which happens to be the world as we know, and can we prove it through observation and experimentation?

a few folks have asked to see some larger photos of the "geek gym" so i posted some, you can see them here. here's a quick history about it for those just tuning in. over a year ago i was able to get rid of our 2nd car because i was using a segway ht full time to get to and from work, with some of the savings from no car/insurance/gas- i was able to buy some gym equipment and i started to exercise again. i lost 45lbs total and i'm training for a marathon this summer. the "geek gym" has a lot of technology in it, basically because i really need to multi-task. rss readers, irc, im, web, email, xbox, it's all there and it's helped me a lot. technology is more interesting when it's pervasive, at least it is to me. video is down, moving servers.
